Business Insurance Program
HOBSON INSURANCE WWW.BUSINESSQUOTE.COM 1-800-296-7985 kristy@businessquote.com
I have been a customer of Hobson Insurance for many years. They have provided excellent service and competitive pricing. If I have a question or concern about anything, they get back to me very quickly. They have been a great company to work with. -Chad Wyffels, Borch’s Sporting Goods, Marshall, MN Hobson Insurance has been an exceptional company to deal with. They are constantly looking to save us money on insurance, while striving to furnish a better product with more coverage. -Dale Pfau, Don’s Inc., Lewistown, MT Last summer my gun shop liability coverage doubled with only 5 days notice. We had been in business 33 years and had used the same insurance. I called Hobson with my problem and in 2 days had a quote with a savings of over $5000 per year. They are very courteous and efficient. We should have switched 2 years ago. I highly recommend Hobson Insurance. -Donna Lowe, Bill’s Sporting Goods, Claremore, OK I have been with Hobson Insurance for many years – I have had other insurance for my business, but their quotes never came close to Hobson Insurances. -Jere Dunkelberger, Dunkelberger’s Sports Outfitter, Stoudsburg, PA I spent 40 years in the insurance industry and know for a fact that Hobson Insurances program is excellent and cost very competitive. They certainly have the knowledge and resources to meet the needs of the firearms industry. -Jerry Hassler, Franklin Gun Shop, Franklin, TN We have been using Hobson Insurance for at least 20 years. They have provided us with excellent service in covering our business insurance needs. They have always been very willing to look for the right coverage at the most competitive rates. We have compared them with agencies in our area. They provide our business liability, property, automobile coverage and some specialty coverage on rentals of skis and watercraft. I definitely recommend that you give Hobson Insurance an opportunity to quote your insurance needs. -Ed Beall, Capital Sports & Western Wear, Helena, MT We have been insured by Hobson Insurance since 2003. With their help we are able to insure our real estate, inventory, and workers compensation for far less than we were paying for just the real estate alone. Not only is our cost less, but the service we receive is prompt, knowledgeable and courteous. We will continue doing business with Hobson Insurance for years to come. -Linda Mace, Mace Sports, Mebane, NC As a small independent business owner it has been a constant effort to drive unnecessary costs out of my business without compromising the services that we offer or put the long term viability of the company at risk. Hobson Insurance has not only delivered an impressive insurance package, but I have found the costs associated with the policy to be extremely competitive. Their staff has been pleasant, easy to work with and always willing to assist me when I have a question on my policy. - Conway Marvin, Streiff Sporting Goods, Warroad, MN

The 3rd Annual Border Bowl features the best 48 high school senior football play- ers from Georgia and the best 48 high school seniors from South Carolina; as chosen by a committee of area coaches. Team Georgia and Team South Carolina played in the “Battle for the Paddle” in early January at Lucy C. Laney Stadium in Augusta, GA. Proceeds from the game’s ticket sales benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities of Augusta. Johannsen Sport- ing Goods was a lead sponsor of this event. Funds were used to purchase Russell Athletic game uniforms that will be used for the next five Border Bowls. • Each player received a Badger Sport logo practice jersey, ¼ pullover and t-shirt. • Each coach received a Badger Sport logo ¼ zip pullover, polo shirt and The Game cap • 12 cheerleaders were selected for each team and they also received a Badger Sport logo ¼ zip pullover and tights
There were 4,500 fans in at t endance for the game and $17,500 was raised or the Ronald Mc Do n a l d
House in Augusta. These funds are used to help main- tain housing for the families of children being treated for cancer at local medical facilities. The scoreboard showed that Georgia won 35 to South Carolina’s 21 but everyone in attendance knows that the Ronald Mc- Donald House-Augusta is the real winner.
Johannsen’s also used their Sporting Chance funds to purchase Jugs pitching ma- chines and batting cage nets and donated them to local leagues in need.
Johannsen Sporting Goods is grateful for the Nancy H. Wil- son Sporting Chance Award. They were able to purchase 100% of their donated goods and apparel from Sports, Inc. approved suppliers at their cost which makes the donations go even farther.

USA Baseball, member organizations announce new youth bat performance testing program Implementation of USABat standard begins on January 1, 2018 DURHAM, N.C. -- USA Baseball, the national governing body for the sport of baseball in the U.S., in conjunction with participating national member organizations announced the decision to adopt a new method for measuring bat performance in the testing of youth bats. Informed by the research of leading scientists on the USA Baseball Bat Study Committee, and supported by its NMOs, -- including the American Amateur Baseball Congress (AABC), Amateur Athletic Union (AAU), Babe Ruth Baseball/Cal Ripken Baseball, Dixie Youth Baseball, Little League Baseball and PONY Baseball -- USA Baseball has concluded that recent advancements in science, engineering, technology, and the materials available to fabricate non-wood bats, now allow the manufacturers to construct youth bats that can perform at a wood-like level through the entire range of lengths and weights of youth bats. The new USA Baseball bat standard (USABat), which will apply to bats that are classified below the NCAA and NFHS level of play, will be implemented on January 1, 2018, allowing the bat manufacturers sufficient time to bring these bats to the marketplace. "USA Baseball is pleased, with the support of our participating national member organizations, to announce the USABat standard," said USA Baseball's executive director/CEO, Paul Seiler. "Beginning with the launch in 2018, we will take another step forward in making our game more uniform at the youth level and ensuring the long-term integrity of the game." Similar to the NCAA and NFHS BBCOR standard, which helped to eliminate discrepancies with different length bats and thus provide a more direct measure of bat performance, the new USA Baseball bat standard will allow youth baseball organizations in the United States to reach their goal of establishing a wood-like standard, a standard that will provide for the long-term integrity of the game. There will be no immediate change to youth baseball organizations' bat rules. All bats, currently accepted for the respective leagues, remain permissible through December 31, 2017. Each participating national member organization will incorporate the new standard into their rules for the 2018 season and will begin, with this announcement, to inform their membership of the USABat standard. Frequently Asked Questions about the USABat standard: Which national member organizations are implementing this new standard? To date, the following organizations are participating (in alphabetical order): American Amateur Baseball Congress (AABC), Amateur Athletic Union (AAU), Babe Ruth Baseball/Cal Ripken Baseball, Dixie Youth Baseball, Little League Baseball and PONY Baseball. Why the change to a wood-like standard? USA Baseball's national member organizations believe that a wood-like performance standard will best provide for the long-term integrity of the game. The new standard will not have a drop-weight limit, so young players can use bats made with light-weight materials. Why not just use wood bats? Wood is a scarce resource. The new bats will be designed to perform much like wood, where its performance will be limited to the highest performing wood.
