NFHS Wresting Uniform Ruling – 5/2/17 Why the rules change to the uniform guidelines for wrestling ?

• As an amendment to NFHS Rule 4-1-1, Article 1, the alternate 2-piece uniform was added in an effort to increase participation for boys and girls wrestling. All uniform requirements are contingent upon adoption by each state association; please contact your respective state association for local rules interpretations.

Current NFHS-compliant Wrestling Uniform options : 1. Singlet

• a one-piece singlet shall be cut no lower in the back or front than the level of the armpits and under the arms no lower than one-half the distance between the armpit and the belt line – All CK Singlet templates are NFHS compliant except the low cut singlet style (ST7843J) • the one-piece singlet must be school issued • NFHS-compliant CK PRODUCTS : all singlet templates except the low cut singlet style (ST7843J) 2. Singlet + shorts designed for wrestling (non-compression) • a one-piece singlet shall be cut no lower in the back or front than the level of the armpits and under the arms no lower than one-half the distance between the armpit and the belt line – All CK Singlet templates are NFHS compliant except the low cut singlet style (ST7843J) • shorts designed for wrestling shall have a minimum 4-inch inseam that shall not extend below the knee; shorts designed for wrestling shall have an elastic waistband and a drawstring that is not exposed. Shorts designed for wrestling shall not have exposed drawstrings, belt loops, zippers, snaps, buttons, or pockets. Shorts designed for wrestling may be worn over the singlet. • the one-piece singlet and shorts designed for wrestling must be school issued • NFHS-compliant CK PRODUCTS : i. Singlets: all singlet templates except the low cut singlet style (ST7843J) ii. Shorts: BRDS4, SBRDS4, SBRDS4L 3. Compression top + compression bottom • a form-fitted compression shirt which shall not cover or extend below the elbow (no long sleeve shirts) and shall have a minimum 3-inch tail • compression shorts shall have a minimum 4-inch inseam that shall not extend below the knee; compression shorts shall not have exposed drawstrings, belt loops, zippers, snaps, buttons, or pockets • the compression top and bottom must be school issued • NFHS-compliant CK PRODUCTS :

i. Compression top: BDUSS1, SBDUSS1 ii. Shorts: LWS43, SCKWS43, SLWS43J
