Invented by Mike Foster, a card-carry- ing member of the FFCA (Fired Football Coaches Association), Lazser Down was a concept inspired by a lifelong love of football. For 30 years, Mike was involved in coaching, recruiting and scouting at all levels of the game, in high school, junior college, Division II, 1-AA, 1-A and the Arena Football League. After winning state and conference champi- onships, bowl games and a national championship, Mike’s ‘aha’ moment came while working on the TV series Friday Night Lights, when he had a chance to study the Dial-A-Down sideline markers and then went to work for the inventor of that product. After years of research and develop- ment on his own sideline marker con- cept – one that incorporated modern technology to improve the accuracy and pace of the game while maintain- ing one of its cherished traditions – he was awarded a patent on the Lazser Down system and is now leading the effort to bring a better down-and-dis- tance solution to the game of football.
