FEATURING GUEST SPEAKER JAKE WOOD JakeWood is the cofounder and CEO of Team Rubicon, a nonprofit organization that recruits, trains and deploys military veterans to disaster zones around the world and within the United States. Since 2010, Team Rubicon has scaled to 80,000 volunteers and deployed teams to some of the worst catastrophes of the century. As a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps, Wood deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan as a Scout Sniper and earned the Navy-Marine Commendation Medal. A leading veterans’ advocate, Wood has briefed President Obama on veterans’ issues, met with former Presidents Bush and Clinton on veteran transition and disaster response, and testified before a Senate committee to improve mental health care services for returning veterans. He has also appeared in the major media, including MSNBC, CNN, NBC, ABC, Al Jazeera, US News & World Report, Forbes, Fox News and penned an op-ed for The New York Times. In 2014, Crown Publishing published Wood’s book, Take Command: Lessons in Leadership.

Jake leadership presentations to Fortune 500 companies like Starbucks, Farmers Insurance, and Goldman Sachs. He forces organizations to rethink what they know about leadership, change management, and risk, providing attendees a framework for becoming better leaders and building more agile organizations. Jake was an offensive lineman for the Wisconsin Badgers from 2001-2004. In July, Jake was presented the Pat Tillman Award for Service at the 2018 ESPY Awards. “Few things have the power to bring different people together like sports and service, military has given

Taxi cabs are available to and from the airport. Fare to the Man- dalay Bay averages around $20 per cab and is a 15 minute ride. Several shuttles are also available for a fee. Please keep inmind that shuttle service typically takes longer, but Mandalay Bay is one of the first stops. Shuttles typically cost between $7 to $11 per person. Ride shares are also an option. Create team catalogs, team player pack stores, spirit wear stores, fundraising stores, etc., through OrderMyGear online system. 4. Use product from the suppliers below in the online catalogs and online stores. HOW IT WORKS: 1. OrderMyGear will track sales for registered Sports, Inc. Sales Reps with these vendors. 2. At the end of each Quarter, OrderMyGear will provide sales data for each Sales Rep to Sports, Inc. 3. Sports, Inc. will receive a 2% credit from vendors for all Sports, Inc. OMG sales for each quarter. 4. Sports, Inc. will redistribute the vendor funds via individual check to registered Sports, Inc. sales reps within 60 days after the end of each quarter. * The above program is available to sales reps employed by Sports, Inc. Please let Sports, Inc. know about business plans that could affect your Sports, Inc. Membership. As part of the Sports, Inc. Membership Agreement and the By-laws, members agree to notify the Sports, Inc. Office about material changes in their business. Notifi- cation is important because Sports, Inc. Staff often can help make sure that your membership is not affected. Examples of material changes include, but are not lim- ited to, change of ownership, location, adding branches, adding or dropping merchandise categories, or experi- encing unfortunate events like catastrophic weather, fire, or burglaries. IMPORTANT - Members should be especially proac-

tive if they are contemplating the sale of their business. Remember that the SI stock will not transfer to the new owners. The prospective buyers have to apply for mem- bership just like any other prospective member and be accepted for membership by the Sports, Inc. staff. If members inform the SI office of a possible change in ownership early in the process, the Sports, Inc. staff often can assist both the existing member and the pro- spective buyer. If you have any questions about the notification pro- visions in either the By-laws or the Membership Agree- ment, please contact Todd Adams or Matt Owen in the Sports, Inc. office.
